CTJRA Standings

Custom Layout:

The CTJRA at this time has sanctioned four Jr. Rodeos in North Central Washington. These rodeos are usually 2-3 day events and include the participation of around 200 competitors and their families. Most competitors and their families spend at least one full day in each community, and many spend the entire weekend patronizing motels, grocery, prepared food, fuel, beverage, and other businesses. If you feel that your business might benefit from increased exposure in our association, you may consider sponsoring an event. Sponsorship rewards you with-

"Repetitive thanks" to your business during the rodeo from a high quality rodeo announcer…Jr. Rodeo requires parental participation, giving you exposure to spectators, competitors and their families

Your signage displayed at rodeo facilities…we welcome the display of your banners, signs etc…

Association Appreciation…our members feel naturally compelled to patronize sponsors year round

Event sponsors are given additional "plugs" via special thanks in local media sources

Program Advertising…each rodeo prints an event program, your business advertisement receives very good exposure from this…programs are usually kept for the duration of the summer series and are often used to refresh grandad & grandma's memories of each rodeo

Pictures…business owners who sponsor an event receive a framed photo of the western athlete who receives your reward…rodeo pictures are a great conversation piece in your place of business, and show your civic interests!

We feel confident that your business will be rewarded for your sponsorship! And because of your good will, North Central Washington's western athletes will receive the recognition that makes them not only proud to compete in this region, but gracious for local businesses who have taken an interest in their future…

These are some options that you may consider-

Sponsorship of an entire event..

All-round Jacket..

How bout some a little "Cracker Barrel Horse Philosophy"....
Ray Hunt visits about the importance of getting a horse ready, keeping things simple, respecting the horse, and more. .

I'm trying to get the horse to where he doesn't feel as if he has to protect himself. At the same time, ALL I'M DOING IS DIRECTING THE LIFE IN THE BODY THROUGH THE LEGS TO THE FEET THROUGH THE MIND. The mind is as important to me as the body and legs and feet. If he's all right on his feet, he's going to be all

right in his mind. And if he's all right in his mind, he's going to be all right in his feet.
When I say all right in his mind, I mean that he's not troubled about anything. He understands his
responsibility to you. A lot of horses can get to where they will move their feet all right, but they are still not right mentally. To start with, a horse might be operating in this way, but he is not right mentally. Until he learns, the feel has to come from your heart to the animal and back to you. It can't just go from you to the horse. Or from the horse to you. But a lot of people try to take from the animal without giving to it first. You might not understand what I just said, because YOU MIGHT NOT BE THINKING THAT DEEP.

When a horse is out in the pasture he does anything he wants to do any way he wants to do it, whenever he wants to. THINK ABOUT IT. That's where a lot of irritation comes between the horse and the rider. The horse can do the thing we are asking, but he has to understand when our foot comes in or our leg, what's the meaning? What's he supposed to do?
I CAN GET YOU TO DO ANYTHING IF I GET YOU READY. But if I haven't got you ready, think about the trouble that I would have trying to get you to do something. You'd be trying to protect yourself. Try to UNDERSTAND THE PICTURE OF READY. Getting somebody or something ready. It's simple. If you haven't got something ready, it won't work. It will be a wrestling match. That is the part that I cannot seem to get across to most people. No one is doing any wrong thing. Please try and understand that. NOBODY DOES ANYTHING WRONG ON PURPOSE. It might not be working, but they are not doing it to be wrong. I'm going to do what I need to do and say what I need to say to get my message across whether you like it or not. I'm not out to hurt anyone's feelings, but if the shoe fits, you're going to have to wear it, because you're not going to let these horses down while I'm around. IF THE HORSE ISN'T RIGHT, IT'S BECAUSE WE'RE NOT RIGHT.

A horse can feel a fly land on him, so it ought to get to where when you take ahold of him, he moves. A lot of people are dragging on him like he's a sled and wondering what's the matter with him. They're not operating him off of a feel. The horse is very sensitive, way more sensitive than the human being. But I think the human believes that the horse is just a dumb beast when he is, in fact, smarter than most human beings could ever think about. But they put the animal down for some reason.

A lot of people think that they are better than the horse. I've seen one human that's as good as one, but I've never seen one that's any better than a horse. But humans seem to put themselves above the horse for some reason, and THAT'S THEIR DOWNFALL. My responsibility to this animal is to teach him what I'm capable of teaching him. BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO TEACH A HORSE SOMETHING THAT THEY ARE NOT CAPABLE OF. Then the horse is definitely in trouble.

Most horses operate in spite of the human being, not because of them. The horse operates to protect himself, I don't want that. People make it so difficult that the horse can't understand. All you have to do is make the wrong thing difficult and the right thing easy. You fix it up and let him find it. You let him work at it. WHEN HE MAKES A MISTAKE, TO HIM IT'S NOT A MISTAKE. He doesn't know what to do. We are the ones that call it a mistake. He didn't know what else to do. But we're so soon to criticize. We don't notice near enough of the good things he does, and while he's doing those good things, we just take them for granted. We do way too much physically and we don't do near enough mentally. We don't see enough and then we do too much. We don't do it to be wrong. But there are horses that won't get by with us doing the wrong thing. Then pretty soon you're out looking for another horse, and that one may have been the best horse you'd ever had in your life if you just could have figured it out.

THE HUMAN IS PRETTY CONTENT TO STAY ON ONE TRACK. If it works, you're a good hand; if it doesn't, he's a dumb horse. And your mom and dad will believe you, your aunt and uncle and best friend will, too, because they had a horse just like him. SO LOOK WHERE THE HORSE IS AT. Look at what he has to go through.

I'm all for the horse. Why shouldn't I be? He's my friend, not just a tool to get by in life.
A person can do the best he can do to the best of his ability, and that's all he can do. Some people will never establish what I am talking about, and that doesn't make them wrong. BUT IT WOULD BE WRONG IF I NEVER MENTIONED IT.
